Lakshmi Mathiyalagan

• Dr. Lakshmi is an experienced scientist with comprehensive training and background in IVF technology. She has completed her M.Sc and Ph.D in Zoology with embryology as a major subject. She is a gold medalist from Madras University in India. She has laboratory-working experience for more than eighteen years. She lived and worked as a scientist in Singapore for 11 years and then moved to Australia in 2001. She was originally trained as an embryologist in Singapore and has been accredited by the Singapore Ministry of Health as an embryologist. She continued her work in Sydney as a senior scientist in human IVF. She has attended many conferences in IVF and has also presented and published papers in this field. She has trained doctors, medical students and other scientists in IVF techniques. Currently she is working as a Laboratory Manager at Fertility East. She is also a conjoint lecturer at the University of New South Wales involved in medical research.
• She strongly believes that bringing happiness to people’s lives is great and she is confident that stem cell research can open up better treatment options for patients.
• She loves spending her spare time reading scientific journals, surfing the net to update her knowledge and respects quality time for her family with two lovely sons.
